Getting Started
Section titled “Getting Started”-
Register at app.weplaytestgames.com/register/playtester and verify your email
-
Set up your profile — select your preferred genres, platforms, and hardware so we can match you with the right games
-
Complete your first public playtest — new playtesters must complete one public playtest as a validation trial. This trial playtest is unpaid — it’s how we check your feedback quality
-
Get validated — an admin reviews your trial submission. Once approved, you gain access to private paid playtests, and every playtest you do from then on is paid
-
Browse and claim playtests — find games that match your interests and reserve a slot
How Playtesting Works
Section titled “How Playtesting Works”Once you claim a playtest slot:
- A 24-hour deadline starts — you must submit your video within this window (72 hours for multiplayer playtests, so you have time to get everyone together)
- Play the game for the specified duration (30 min for public, 1 hour for private)
- Record your screen and audio — narrate your thoughts, reactions, and observations as you play
- Upload your video through the dashboard
- Wait for the game owner to review — they have 7 days, after which your submission is auto-accepted
Multiplayer Playtests
Section titled “Multiplayer Playtests”Some playtests need more than one player. You’ll only see these if you’ve set how many friends can join you (Settings → Multiplayer Friends), and they work a little differently:
- You bring your own group. Your friends don’t need accounts on We Playtest Games — you claim the slot, and they just play with you.
- You get a game key for every player, which you share with the friends you bring along.
- You submit one recording of the whole session, not one recording per player. A single video of everyone playing together is all we need.
- The payout covers the whole group — it’s the per-player rate multiplied by the number of players, paid to you as the person who claimed the slot. Splitting it with your friends is up to you.
- You get 72 hours instead of 24, because scheduling a group takes longer.
Claiming Rules
Section titled “Claiming Rules”- Before validation: You can only have one public playtest at a time, total, and it is unpaid — your trial playtest earns you nothing
- After validation: You can only have one playtest in “reserved” status at a time. Once you submit, you can claim another (you can have multiple awaiting review simultaneously)
- Scheduled playtests don’t count against this limit: if your reserved playtest is scheduled for a future date, you can still claim another playtest in the meantime. Once its scheduled time arrives, it counts as your active playtest again
Recording Tips
Section titled “Recording Tips”A great playtest recording includes:
- Constant narration — describe what you see, think, and feel as you play
- Honest reactions — don’t hold back on criticism or praise
- Bug reporting — call out any bugs, glitches, or confusing UI
- First impressions — your initial confusion is valuable data for developers
- Audio quality — use a decent microphone and minimize background noise
